Crimeware-as-a-service

The Crimeware-as-a-Service (CaaS) model gives cybercriminals a way to automate their unauthorized and often illegal activities on the Internet. And they can earn a significant amount of money very quickly using CaaS. Recently, Cloud Threat Labs (CTL), now part of Symantec Corporation discovered that hackers are using Google Drive to host Facebook Phishing and Account hijacking tools. Multiple versions of these tools were found on Google Drive.

“Terrorist-related groups will attack population centers with crimeware-as-a-service. While terrorist-related groups have been tormenting organizations and individuals for years, we anticipate more potentially destructive attacks in 2019. Instead of breaking systems with ransomware, adversaries will leverage new tools to conduct harmful assaults on targeted subjects and organizations.
From attacks on data integrity that essentially kill computers to the point of mandatory hardware replacements, to leveraging new technology for physical assaults such as the recent drone attack in Venezuela, attack surfaces are growing and enemies will take advantage. To combat this, organizations must take inventory of their attack landscape to identify and mitigate potential threats before they are exploited.

Empowered Edge

The edge refers to endpoint devices used by people or embedded in the world around us. Edge computing describes a computing topology in which information processing, and content collection and delivery, are placed closer to these endpoints. It tries to keep the traffic and processing local, with the goal being to reduce traffic and latency.

In the near term, edge is being driven by IoT and the need keep the processing close to the end rather than on a centralized cloud server. However, rather than create a new architecture, cloud computing and edge computing will evolve as complementary models with cloud services being managed as a centralized service executing, not only on centralized servers, but in distributed servers on-premises and on the edge devices themselves.

Over the next five years, specialized AI chips, along with greater processing power, storage and other advanced capabilities, will be added to a wider array of edge devices. The extreme heterogeneity of this embedded IoT world and the long life cycles of assets such as industrial systems will create significant management challenges. Longer term, as 5G matures, the expanding edge computing environment will have more robust communication back to centralized services. 5G provides lower latency, higher bandwidth, and (very importantly for edge) a dramatic increase in the number of nodes (edge endoints) per square km.

Renewable will power mobile networks

In early 2018, news headlines lit up with AT&T’s announcement that it would roll out next-generation 5G mobile internet in a dozen markets by the end of the year, expecting to be the first company in the U.S. The advanced energy solution, called Green Tower, combines Panasonic lithium-ion batteries and solar modules with site-management software and big-data analytics, providing an efficient way for mobile operators and tower companies to measure, monitor and maintain energy infrastructure.

The partnership between Panasonic and Ericsson, a leader in communications technology and services, promises to provide a smoother transition to 5G for mobile network operators, arming them with the capability to more cost-effectively generate and manage the energy needed to power a faster network while still maintaining compatibility for their legacy systems and users. One recent EU study projects dramatic growth in energy use by the telecommunications industry, forecasting that this sector could be responsible for over 50 percent of global power usage by 2030.

When coupled with smart site management controls, energy storage not only improves site resiliency but can cut operating expenses, offering a crucial advantage that will possibly become the industry standard as energy and operating costs continue to rise. In addition to smart, sustainable energy storage, the Green Tower platform also has the capacity to generate energy through solar panels and generate revenue through provision of grid services. Crnogorski Telekom, Montenegro’s leading telecommunications service provider, has signed a ten-year Battery as a Service managed services agreement with Ericsson. As part of the deal, Panasonic will be responsible for dimensioning, manufacturing, supply, performance guarantees and support for battery and power infrastructure

Rising sea levels threaten Internet infrastructure

In a talk to internet network researchers, Ramakrishnan Durairajan, an assistant professor in the computer and information science department at the University of Oregon, warned that most of the damage could come in the next 15 years. Strategies to reduce potential problems should be under consideration sooner rather than later, he says.“Our analysis is conservative in that we only looked at the static dataset of sea level rise and then overlapped that over the infrastructure to get an idea of risk,” Durairajan says.

“Sea level rise can have other factors—a tsunami, a hurricane, coastal subduction zone earthquakes—all of which could provide additional stresses that could be catastrophic to infrastructure already at risk.”By 2033, the study also found, that more than 1,100 internet traffic hubs will be surrounded by water. New York City and Miami are the other two most susceptible cities, but the impacts could ripple out and potentially disrupt global communications.
“Most of the damage that’s going to be done in the next 100 years will be done sooner than later,” says the study’s senior author Paul Barford, a computer scientist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison who was Durairajan’s academic adviser while he completed the study as part of his doctoral work. “That surprised us. The expectation was that we’d have 50 years to plan for it. We don’t have 50 years.”

New technology to allow 100 times faster Internet

Groundbreaking new technology could allow 100-times-faster internet by harnessing twisted light beams to carry more data and process it faster. Broadband fiber-optics carry information on pulses of light, at the speed of light, through optical fibers. But the way the light is encoded at one end and processed at the other affects data speeds.

This world-first nanophotonic device, just unveiled in Nature Communications, encodes more data and processes it much faster than conventional fiber optics by using a special form of 'twisted' light.New broadband technologies under development use the oscillation, or shape, of light waves to encode data, increasing bandwidth by also making use of the light we cannot see.

This latest technology, at the cutting edge of optical communications, carries data on light waves that have been twisted into a spiral to increase their capacity further still. This is known as light in a state of orbital angular momentum, or OAM.

Citizen Development

A Citizen Developer is a user who creates new business applications for consumption by others using development and runtime environments sanctioned by corporate IT. Expect citizen development, where business users development their own applications so that they don't have to wait for IT, to grow in 2019. In the past, end-user application development has typically been limited to single-user or workgroup solutions built with tools like Microsoft Excel and Access.

However, today, end users can build departmental, enterprise and even public applications using shared services, fourth-generation language (4GL)-style development platforms and cloud computing services. As a result, just about anyone with an understanding of these tools and their business requirements can develop business apps and call themselves a ‘citizen developer’.

The idea behind the citizen developer movement is to leverage no or low-code solutions to create self-service solutions. However, we’re hearing more and more about this concept due to the increased availability of cloud-based solutions and low-code tools and scripting capabilities being marketed to non-developers.

Blockchain

A blockchain means is a growing list of records and this list of records linked with using cryptography. Today’s scenario blockchain is very famous for cryptocurrencies and this blockchain readable by the public. There are two types of blockchains use normally; one is private blockchain for business purpose and second one snake oil blockchain for marketing purpose.

Each computer in the blockchain network has its own copy of the blockchain, which means that there are thousands, or in the case of Bitcoin, millions of copies of the same blockchain. Although each copy of the blockchain is identical, spreading that information across a network of computers makes the information more difficult to manipulate.

The blockchain, there isn’t a single, definitive account of events that can be manipulated. Instead, a hacker would need to manipulate every copy of the blockchain on the network.  We would like to see this tech trend in real life and hope you are also excited.

Cyber Security

Cyber Security is the practice of protecting systems, networks, and programs from digital attacks. These cyber-attacks are usually aimed at accessing, changing, or destroying sensitive information; extorting money from users; or interrupting normal business processes. In the new technology world old IT was dying. The cyber security is the main issue from last decade, and cyber security expert was protected from hacking problems.

The bigger problem in the IT world may be the threats crate by the cloud, Mobile wireless technology, the Internet of Things and many more upcoming technologies in this field. As we know Artificial Intelligent, & Machine Learning creates an extremely large quantity of data and this data is so important to protect. Certainly, the technologies are developed but cyber security isn’t scoped with it. So, it can see in market huge demand for cyber security professional throughout the world.

'Cyber risk' means any risk of financial loss, disruption or damage to the reputation of an organisation from some sort of failure of its information technology systems. Cyber Security is the protection of internet-connected systems, including hardware, software and data, from cyber attacks. In a computing context, security comprises cybersecurity and physical security - both are used by enterprises to protect against unauthorized access to data centers and other computerized systems.

5G Technology

5G is the latest technology in the telecommunication field. The 5g will find its place in the market very soon, bringing with itself benefits such as high internet speed, lower latency, and higher capacities. The benefits that will make it one of the prime future technological trends in 2020.

The 5G technology will 100 times faster as compared to current 4G technology, also 10 times faster than what Google fiber gives the speed to home connection. Expert’s an opinion about 5G that you can use virtual reality and augmented reality with 5G speed. We can’t imagine those things today how better that would be with 5G technology.

This technology will give a different experience to internet users and developers to think about developing new technology apps and streaming content. I would be better for the next engineers, developers, & consumers required to gear up for the modern technology platforms.
